
Brisket with Beer
This is the way my mom make brisket (my nana makes it very differently). It is always VERY tender. All of the beer cooks off it's not really for the taste so this recipe is safe for the whole family. Makes a very juicy, delicious brisket!

4 pound beef brisket
pinch of salt
1 large onion, sliced
12 ounce can beer
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 cube beef bouillon
2 tablespoons pepper
2 teaspoons minced garlic (can use garlic powder)
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp dried thyme
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water

Step 11. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Step 22. Season the beef brisket with salt, and place in a baking dish. Cover the entire roast with onion slices.
Step 33. In a bowl mix together the beer, brown sugar, beef bouillon, pepper, garlic bay leaf and thyme. Pour over the roast. Cover with aluminum foil.
Step 4Place in oven and bake for 4 hours.
Step 5Sauce: When finished cooking, mix together the cornstarch and water; stir into the juices in the baking dish to thicken then pour over top.
Step 6Make sure you remove the bay leaf before serving!! Enjoy!
