1 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed

1 large egg

2 cups all purpose flour

1/2 cup oats (old fashion or quick cook), uncooked

1 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 3/4 cups M&M semi sweet baking bits

1 cup toasted rice cereal

1/2 cup shredded coconut

1/2 cup chopped pecans


If you want to make these extra Christmasy, pick out just the red and green m&m's to include them in the cookies.

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C)

Step 2In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

Step 3Beat in egg.

Step 4In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

Step 5Blend flour mixture into creamed mixture.

Step 6Gently stir in M&M baking bits, cereal, coconut, and pecans.

Step 7Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto an un-greased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
