Kerala Beef fry

Beef - 1kg

Onions - 4 large

Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp

Curry leaves - as desired

Garlic- 5 cloves

Ginger - 3/4 of a medium sized one

Chilli powder - 2 tsp (level)

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Coriander powder - 4 tbsp

Masala powder-1 tsp

Vinegar - 2 tsp

Water - 1/2 cup

Salt to taste

1 cup fresh coconut cut into 1"- long, thin slivers (optional)

Step 1Clean and cut beef into small pieces

Step 2Making the masala:

Step 3Slice onions and fry till its brown

Step 4Grind Ginger and garlic. Add to the onions.

Step 5Add Curry leaves.

Step 6Add chilli, turmeric and coriander and masala powder.

Step 7Keep frying till the flavors have coaght on to the onions.

Step 8Put the beef pieces into a pressure cooker.

Step 9Add the masala that was prepared. Add salt, Vinegar and water.

Step 10Mix well. Pressure cook for 20 - 30 or till beef is done.

Step 11For a more exotic taste, dry fry the beef with 2-3tbsp coconut oil and coconut
