3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1/4 tsp ground cloves

2 large eggs

1 can (15 oz.) 100% Pure Pumpkin***

1 can (12 fl. oz.) Evaporated Milk

Optional: Whipped cream

Step 1***If making your own pumpkin puree you just need a pumpkin. Cut it in half, remove all the seeds & strings and roast in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 45 minutes to an hour. Let it cool, then put in a food processor and puree for 4-5 minutes.

Step 2***Mix sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger and cloves in a small bowl.

Step 3Beat eggs in a large bowl.

Step 4Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture.

Step 5Gradually stir in evaporated milk.

Step 6Pour into the pie shell.

Step 7Bake in preheated 425° F oven for 15 minutes.

Step 8Reduce temperature to 350° F; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.

Step 9Cool on a wire rack for 2 hours.

Step 10Serve immediately or refrigerate.

Step 11Optional: Top with whipped cream before serving.
