Meatballs Orzo with Tomato Feta Sauce


1 lb ground beef or lamb

2 cloves of garlic chopped

2 tbsps dry oregano

1 bay leaf

2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

1/4 lb feta crumbled separated into two

1 tbsp olive oil

18 oz of your favorite tomato sauce

1 package orzo


Step 1Mix the herbs and 1/2 of the feta into the meatballs.

Step 2Add olive oil to a frying pan and fry the meatballs until the outside is cooked (inside does not need to cook fully yet).

Step 3Add the sauce, 1 bay leaf and the rest of the feta to the meatballs.

Step 4Make the orzo according to the package.

Step 5Let the meatballs cook for about 5-10 minutes.

Step 6Check one meatball to see if it is cooked in the middle.

Step 7When everything is done, separate 1/8 cup of the pasta water and mix into the meatballs with sauce.

Step 8Mix the orzo (after draining in a colander) into the meatballs with sauce.

Step 9Serve.
