Ingredients

1 1/2 cups fresh white breadcrumbs

3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onions

3 ounces Dunlop, sharp cheddar or Cheshire cheese, grated (about 7/8 cup)

4 eggs

Cayenne pepper

1 cup half and half

Fresh chive pieces

Tips

If you're making these individually, you'll need ramekins. Eyeball the ingredients.

Directions

Step 1Preheat oven to 350°F.

Step 2Butter 10-inch glass pie dish.

Step 3Sprinkle half of the fresh white breadcrumbs over bottom of prepared pie dish.

Step 4Sprinkle with half of the chopped chives and half of the grated cheese.

Step 5Carefully break eggs into the pie dish, spacing evenly.

Step 6Top with remaining half of breadcrumbs, chopped chives, and grated cheese.

Step 7Season with cayenne pepper and salt.

Step 8Pour 1 cup half and half over. Bake until eggs are almost set, about 20 minutes.

Step 9Garnish eggs with fresh chive pieces and serve immediately.
