We "called ahead" a week in advance and were told that we could not make a reservation but that our having "called ahead" would put our name on their "list" so we would be seated in about 20 minutes upon arrival instead of the typical 40 minute wait on a saturday night without having "called ahead".............. 2 hours later (no exaggeration) despite numerous assurances from the hostess that we should be seated "any moment" we were still waiting. You would think we were going to an exclusive club and not a family restauraunt. We had 2 children with us ages 5 and 8. You ever wait 2 hours with 2 hungry children? This is no way to run a business. You lost me and my family as customers for life and as many people that I am able to tell about our horrendous experience. Our waitress even confided that managent purposefully tells customers they will be seated any second because they dont want to lose the business. I will never ever come back to ciao baby. CIAO BABY !!!! :(
- sea bass : ok ($30)
This is not place to go on a small appetite. Be prepare to take a doggy bag. The food is great and authentic. The price is moderate but you get alot at the end. There is no room for dessert.
The food here is outrageous. The negative part, for me, is the fact that they don't serve individual portions or complete meals. My friend and I went and split a pasta, salad, and a glass of wine each, and the total bill was more than $50. A little pricey for Long Island.
