They shut it down. :(I went there for my birthday last night and the place was closed for good it looks like.I blame Downtown LA. Those people don't know a good thing when they have it.

Solid food and good service, but does not compare to some of the other options around Downtown for Italian food.

Great atmosphere, good food. Plenty of seating, the ability to make reservations, and fast service makes this a reliable spot for business casual lunches.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The panini's are inexpensive and very good. Happy hour menu needs a little tweaking on the food side, not much available.

In the many times that I have patronized Soleto, every experience Is very, very good. Between Rob, Jen and Mario, all are excellent at the bar. Every food Item that I have ever ordered was made to perfection. There is really nothing bad that I can say about Soleto. I recommend it.

New to the neighborhood?...alright, I'll give it a shot... 50 percent off errthang for the locals for a limited time? Damn, I'm in. I'm not going to be reviewing the phenomenal discounted price, but I was able to sample a large amount of their food through it.Soleto has a nice industrial decorated bar inside with other various table seating. Booths are pretty limited in number. The gem of this spot is the patio. The patio is exposed to the street, but a large glass shield keeps the passerby's drool off your food. For the most part of my meal, you rarely notice that you are dining a few feet from Fig, since the sound ambiance is nicely isolated. They will also gladly move a heat lamp near you if you need it. While you are at it, LOOK UP the side of the skyscraper. Marvelous isn't it?-=-Truffled Mushrooms-=- This was delicious the first time around, not so much the second. It is sauteed skinny mushrooms on a plate with truffle oil on top. It's very simple really. The second time around is was a bit too salty and not enough truffly.-=-Mozzarella Sticks-=- These are larger strips than typical. An appetizer plate includes 4 large pieces. I would get this again. It came with 2 different dips: pesto and marinara. Both were good. This is a good balanced plate.-=-Calamari-=- Wasn't too big a fan of these. There was a good amount piled on the plate but it was still not crispy enough to my taste, but more bready. Dip it in marinara and call it a day.-=-Potato Bacon Pizza-=- This is my favorite dish here. We were urged to crack a sunny side egg on top and it was all worth it. These pizzas are flatbread style and the toppings and flavor on top were all tasty. It wasn't overly saucy or cheesy, which could be good too, but the toppings and thin bread made this good.-=-New York Strip Steak-=- I just splurged one day and got this. It's one of the priciest items on the menu. I asked for rare, but it was cooked medium rare. I don't think I'd pay full price for this though since there wasn't anything special about it other than being a slab of meat.-=-Chicken Parmesan-=- A good staple dish to get. If you want meat and you want spaghetti, this will work. Chicken was breaded nicely and melted cheese on top is always welcome.-=-Pumpkin Ravioli-=- I just don't have a taste for sweet pasta. This was very unique and seemed to be loved by many. As with any other ravioli dish out there, the quantity is always lacking, but there was plenty of sauce hanging out on the plate once all the raviolis were gone. Sweet sauce lovers rejoice.

We order two items and they didn't have the first one. The manager came out to explain about not having the fish and never talked about the second item. He went on about Saturday is when they order stock for next week because they close the next day in Sunday. Who cares! It's not our problem that you don't know how to run your restaurant. 20 min later when our salad came out as a replacement for the fish, they brought an extra order of the salad. Then, we realized they didn't have the second item as well. He never mentioned it once when he came out. This place is disorganized and poorly managed! Never have we been to a restaurant where both entrees ordered on the menu are not available. This is a Saturday night in downtown LA! Poor communication and not worth missing dinner! The manager did offer us to return on his expense but what are the chances that they will be missing items on the menu?

Downtown-ers For The WinThey've been having a deal for a while if you're a downtown resident you get to eat 50% off the entire menu on Saturday nights. Ever since they've opened shop they've been busy on weekdays for the lunch crowd and the happy hour folks after work. Saturday has always been a little more laid back because downtown residents haven't fully moved into downtown yet. This deal obviously attracts more people over the weekend.Everything we got that was non-pizza was really really good, the pizza itself could have been better for a -pizza bar-. I'd call it more of a modern italian place more than a pizza bar.Cheese Fondue - Very creamy cheese that you can scoop with bread and some boiledCharred Cauliflower - Gotta love baked/charred cauliflower! Can't go wrong with this oneBrussels Sprouts with bacon and a poached egg - This dish is great once you break your yolk all over itOrecchiette Diavolo - House made spicy sausage, rapini, chili flakes - The sausage is amazing, not too heavySpicy Smoked Speck Pizza - Fresno & anaheim peppers, onion - This one sounded better than it was. They didn't give enough of the ingredients on the pizza to fill your mouthPepperoni w/ added pineapple Pizza - Grana padano, oregano, fresh mozzarella - This was good but I would never get it again.Overall great place! For for the anti-pizza dishes and go on a Saturday if you're a downtown resident! (Bring in your proof of ID or mail that shows you live in downtown)
