Well... Last Week I ate at Barbone in N.Y.. I'm orginally from Dallas however previously been to NY a number of times. My spouse and I really like the variation of restaurants. Wait staff in that restaurant was so awesome! The space is sleek and pretty. The event was exceptional. From the couple of appetizers and 2 entrees we ordered, I'd personally say 3 as very good & 1 as really okay Also was to go to a NYC restaurant without having a lot attitude. Go now before the buzz gets insane.

My friends and I usually eat at Nifty Fifties all the time considering its right across the street from where I live. We usually have good service but recentley in April,2010 our experiance wasn't so pleasant. They sat us down and waited and waited and 15 mins. later we still didn't get any service not even our drinks while other people were walking in way after us and they had there drinks right away it was like we were invisible noone even acknowledged our presence so we walked out and on our way out I complained to the manager and he didn't even know what to say but I sure had alot to say......They just lost very good customers that go there all the time because of the wait staffs incompitance they didn't even notice us leaving now how pathetic!!!!!!!!!

There is little that needs to be said about this restaurant. Firstly, the good: food was decent, but not necessarily any better than a lower-priced Indian venue. This would be fine, considering that the high price is supposed to be paying for top-notch service, etc. Atmosphere = very cool; more restaurants should try to embody such a unique atmosphere.

The positives stop there. Staying only minutes away at George V, we chose to dine here for a change one evening. After arriving without reservations, the head waiter/manager/host (I have no idea exactly what he was) told us that it would be almost impossible. He said, however, that he would "check his schedule and try to re-arrange tables". After waiting 30 minutes, he escorted us in. We were given menus, and 25 minutes passed without ANYONE coming to wait on us, offer us something to drink, etc. Had we not waited to get in (plus, we did not want to wait elsewhere at this point), we likely would have left. In any event, we called a waiter over and asked to get some service.

We ordered food. In terms of the wines, I have never seen a wine menu in my life that was as hideously over-priced as that at Ratn. The cheapest wine was, I believe, 42 euro, with a usurious 500% mark-up. My real problem came when we asked to have some water, only to be offered flat or sparkling by the bottle. I insisted that I only wanted tap water, but was told that that would be impossible. Apparantly, every other table was okay paying 15 euro for a bottle of Evian -- sorry, that is NOT happening, we just stuck to the wine. Oh, and when I questioned why I could not get a glass of water, reminding the waiter/manager/host that no such other restaurant operates that way, he told me not to argue, and that I should, rather, feel priveleged that he was able to rearrange the schedule to accomodate me! What an assclown.

The excitement ends here. The food eventually came, we ate, and paid the bill as soon as possible to leave. Honestly, amongst the WORST DINING EXPERIENCES in my life. I had just returned from the Dordogne region where we dined in Michelin restaurants each evening. I have travelled the world eating at top-drawer restaurants, and have NEVER been turned down a glass of water or told to feel lucky that I am able to eat at the establishment. I suppose the impression may be that I am simply not refined/experienced enough to understand the bottled water situation; I am merely trying to express that never in my life have I seen such lunacy in a dining establishment. I do not have a problem paying that kind of money for okay Indian food -- but, in return, I expect top-notch service and experienced, professional staff. Non-existent service -- as in the case of Ratn -- is unacceptable.

Please, take my review to heart, and choose any other restaurant in the City of Lights -- whether you are a tourist or local -- at which to dine. I would not want ANYONE to experience the same utter catastrophe that my family experienced at this circus.

Use to live in LB. This place has great food for early evening cravings. Makes me wonder if they get their food this way:

Tom's Home Cookin is the best Southern-Style home-cooked food I have ever paid money for. Come early, because if you don't the line will be long, the parking scarce, and the food choices dwindling. When they run out, it's GONE. You MUST get some peach cobbler. The menu varies, but there is usually meatloaf, catfish, fried chicken, BBQ pork, and other comfort food. Not for the calorie counter, but it will be an experience you won't soon forget.

Lakeside is a secret little get away where you can have an AMAZING night of drinks and dinner! It is friendly for everyone, and the staff was accommodating to our needs. We were quickly sat, and then promptly delivered drinks. The service was wonderfully attentive and genuinely nice. With our food comes their great soup and salad bar! The salad bar is great, and the always hot homemade soup is even better. My experience here was wonderful. I'll most definitely be back!

My family and I have been going to Pancho's for years. They have the absolutely best tortilla chips and salsa we have ever tasted and we have traveled a lot! They make their own chips that are so thin and crispy, always served fresh and hot, that you have to make yourself stop eating them so you have room for dinner. The salsa is the freshest ever! Not too thin or too thick. They refill as soon as requested with a smile. I have gotten them to go for social gatherings and they are always the first thing to disappear with everyone raving about them. The chicken tortilla soup is amazing and the cup is huge, no need to order the bowl. My husband's favorite is the black bean soup. Their menu has lots of choices and the prices are reasonable. I get the tacos ala carte which is plenty after all the chips and salsa and the tortilla soup. They are under $6. We have tried just about everything and loved it all. And our kids eat for only 99 cents on Tuesdays! They eat without a problem because they can't wait for the Flan! It's as good as it gets. If our tight family budget allowed, we would eat there every single week:-)

I've eaten at Irv's many times for many years! I used to go there when I was in High School, they had the best Corned Beef and Rye bread any where in the area! Now they still have the best corned beef and breakfast specials! I used to go every Sunday after church with my family for breakfast, and I would see an old friend with his kids there every once in a while. We were both divorced, well after a while, we started dating and now we're married, so Irv's is a Magical place with GREAT food!

I have frequented this restaurant several times and have positively fallen in love with it. The owner has gone to great lengths and expense to update and bring to life, the cutest little place in Franklin. The menu is fabulous; hearty breakfasts, mouth-watering lunches and the dinners are enough to draw people from as far as away as the City. But above all of this is the atmosphere! Music trickles in to fill the silence, the smell of the best coffee in the world permeates the air, and the interior construction creates the coziest feeling I've ever experienced in any restaurant. And the service... Kelly has put together a team of the finest staff. Cooks and waitresses alike, all are very attentive and eager to please. The restrooms are spotless, the floors shiny, and even behind the breakfast bar is pristine. Five stars!!!

The Bacari Grill is probably my favorite restaurant. We chose it for our smallish wedding reception, in fact. The food is terrific, service attentive without being overbearing, and the decor is neat casual and laid back. And, while there may be a couple of Italian-inspired entrees and desserts on the menu and they are known for their a la carte antipasto, it is most definitely not an Italian restaurant.
