One customer wrote, "We stopped by Beck's for lunch for our first visit to the restaurant. We were very happy with the food, service, and prices. We had the pulled pork sandwich ($13.59), substituting asparagus for the fries and a Beck burger with fries ($12.99). The coffee and unsweetened tea were $2.99 each. Parking was easy with a large lot behind the restaurant. We look forward to our next visit."
Another customer wrote, "Zippy is an amazing server. Food was delicious. We enjoyed the Oktoberfest menu. Only suggestion would be to pound the pork a little thinner on the schnitzel. Otherwise, everything is fantastic. Whole Hog Pumpkin beer is my favorite pumpkin beer this season."
However, some customers have had less than stellar experiences at E W Beck's. One customer wrote, "The first visit I had the smash burger with onion rings. I wanted this to get 5 stars soooo bad, but who serves a burger on a nice roll without being toasted? The onion ring were good. The second visit I ordered honey old bay chicken wings and crab wontons. The crab wontons were not to my liking. They had more cream cheese than anything else. The plum sauce taste more like a teriyaki than a Sweet chili. I hate teriyaki! The wings were fried hard, which I don't mind. The chef was a little stingy on the sauce, although I do not like my wings soaking. I had to ask do they only serve drumettes with their wings. I was told they were out of flats. Well ok, it would have been nice to know. I also had a piece of chicken that was deformed and that turned my stomach. I really want to love love this place because the service is awesome and it is really cozy. Both visits Lauren was my server, she's super sweet. I will try something else out next time."
Overall, E W Beck's Restaurant & Pub is a great spot for anyone looking for a modern twist on gastropub fare in Sykesville. With its locally sourced ingredients, live music, and extensive selection of draft beers, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a great night out in the area.
