Though it certainly has become one of Seattle’s more “touristy” restaurants – especially in the downtown and waterfront area – the truth of the matter is that you to have a hard time finding better seafood anywhere in Seattle then at The Crab Pot.
Restaurant that has been around for a couple of years now, they are literally able to offer the freshest seafood in the city thanks to their prime location right on the water. With tight connections to all of the best commercial fishermen in the Pacific Northwest, there are able to make sure that the seafood you’re eating on your plate at this very moment is no older than four or five hours from when it was pulled out of the water you’re looking out at from your window seat.
Dishes of note would have to be the steamed clams, mussels, crab (the Dungeness and snow crab in specific), the shrimp and salmon skewers, and any of the different soups of the day that they make on a regular basis. One of the coolest parts about this restaurant is that over there right after ordering) your waiter will bring over butcher paper to cover the table – and then presenting you with a wooden cutting board, a mallet, and an oversized bib. You’ll then be presented with whatever it was you ordered – and the odds are great that they’ll dump most of it out into the middle of the table (on that butcher paper) really adding to the authentic communal feel of the place.
If you have a handful of people in your party that aren’t wild about seafood (hard to imagine as that may be), they also have a number of back kitchen dishes – your typical stuff in chicken, steak, and pasta dishes – as well as some of the best sandwiches in the downtown Seattle area.
The Crab Pot in Seattle has built up a fantastic reputation for a reason, and much of it is based off of their fine food and even finer service. The wait staff is fantastic, the chefs and cooks definitely know what they are doing, in the entire experience is casual, fun, and light all around.
Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait here at The Crab Pot in Washington, but that’s to be expected with their prime touristy location. Prices can also get a little bit high, making this the kind of restaurant perfect for special occasions or once in a while dining as opposed to the your everyday eatery.
I took my girlfriend here during our first anniversary due to some very good recommendation from friends. Since my girlfriend loves seafood so much, I asked a couple of friends where to get the best of them. The place is warm and cool and the staff are nice and friendly. This place is one of the best seafood restaurant we've been into and my girlfriend approves of it very much. Thanks guys. Hope to see on our next anniversary.
This place is awesome! Very kid friendly, fun menu, fun staff and cool spot! Located in a friendly neighborhood, fun and nice crowd and a perfect family bonding spot!
This place is our favorite restau and the food, so yummy... I myself is a seafood lover and not only this restau makes eating fun but their food really taste nice!
I have read some reviews about The Crab Pot on how it satisfy it's customers. I was kinda curious and since i love seafood I together with my sister visited the place to taste the Crab Pot boil. My sister did not actually liked it. She said that it's tasteless. I disagree with her, i liked how it taste.
The view is beautiful and a lot of people are eating there. What I don't like is the price the food.. It is a bit expensive compared to other seafood resto.
