- 40 piecesflat wafer sheets (obleas)
- 1 jararequipe (dulce de leche or caramel spread)
- 1 cupgrated coconut (optional)
- 1 cupchocolate sprinkles or rice crispies (optional coating)

Instructions
- 1Lay half of the wafer sheets on a clean work surface.
- 2Spoon about 1 generous tablespoon of arequipe onto the center of each wafer.
- 3Carefully press a second wafer on top, twisting slightly to spread the caramel evenly to the edges.
- 4If desired, roll the exposed caramel edge in grated coconut or chocolate sprinkles for extra crunch.
- 5Serve immediately or allow sandwiches to set in the refrigerator for 15 minutes for a firmer bite.
- 6Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
