Ingredients
- 2 cupsfruit juice (any flavor)
- 1/4 cupgranulated sugar (adjust by juice sweetness)
- 1 cupice cubes
- 1/2 tspcitric acid or 1 Tbsp lemon juice (optional, for tang)
- 1 pinchsalt (balances sweetness)
Recipe serves 2 people
Instructions
- 1In a blender combine juice, sugar, lemon juice/citric acid if using, and a pinch of salt. Blend until sugar dissolves, about 15 seconds.
- 2Add all the ice to the blender and pulse on high until the mixture turns into a uniform, snowy texture. If too thin, add more ice; if too thick, splash in a little extra juice.
- 3Serve immediately in chilled glasses with wide straws or spoon-straws.
- 4Alternatively: For make-ahead, freeze the blended mixture in a shallow dish for 1 hour. Scrape with a fork to create fluffy ice crystals every 30 minutes until fully frozen.

Chef's Notes
Swap juice for any soda, sports drink, or homemade fruit purée. Want dairy? Replace ½ cup of juice with milk or yogurt for a creamy slush.
