Ingredients

  • 1 lblump crab meat, picked over
  • 1 tspchili powder
  • 1/2 tspsmoked paprika
  • 1/4 tspcumin
  • 1/4 tspsalt
  • 1 cupgreen cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cuppurple cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 cupcilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cupsour cream
  • 2 tbsplime juice, divided
  • 1 clovegarlic, minced
  • 8 smallsoft corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoonolive oil
  • 1 smalljalapeño, finely diced (optional)

Recipe serves 4 people

Instructions

    In a bowl, combine shredded green and purple cabbage, half the lime juice, half the cilantro and a pinch of salt. Toss to mix; set slaw aside.

    In another bowl whisk sour cream, remaining lime juice, remaining cilantro, garlic, and a pinch of salt to make the lime crema. Chill until ready to serve.

    Pat crab meat dry, then gently fold in chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, and salt until evenly coated.

    Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add seasoned crab meat (and jalapeño if using) and sauté 2-3 minutes, just until warmed through; avoid over-stirring to keep lumps intact.

    Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.

    To assemble, layer slaw onto each tortilla, top with sautéed crab meat, and drizzle generously with lime crema. Serve immediately.

Chef's Notes

For extra crunch, add sliced radishes to the slaw. Swap sour cream for equal parts Greek yogurt to lighten the crema.
