- 1 cupall-purpose flour
- 1 tsppaprika
- 1 tspgarlic powder
- 1/2 tspcayenne pepper
- 1/2 tspsalt
- 1/2 tspblack pepper
- 1 cupbuttermilk
- 16 ozhamburger dill pickle chips, drained and patted dry
- 1 qtvegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cupmayonnaise
- 1/4 cupsour cream
- 1 tbspfresh dill, chopped
- 1 tsplemon juice
- 1/2 tsponion powder
Recipe serves 4 people
Instructions
- 1In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, salt and pepper.
- 2Pour buttermilk into a separate shallow bowl.
- 3Dredge pickle slices in the seasoned flour, dip in buttermilk, then dredge again in flour, shaking off excess.
- 4Heat oil in a heavy pot to 375°F (190°C).
- 5Fry pickles in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
- 6Stir together mayonnaise, sour cream, dill, lemon juice and onion powder for the ranch dipping sauce.
- 7Serve hot pickles immediately with chilled ranch dip.

Chef's Notes
Keep oil at an even temperature so the coating stays crunchy, not soggy. For extra tang, add 1 tsp pickle juice to the ranch.
